The difference between gravity shelves and fluent shelves

As is well known, fluent shelves and gravity shelves are both first in, first out shelf types in storage shelves. They can effectively ensure the first in, first out principle, and goods can slide from one end of the shelf to the other through gravity operations, which is very beneficial for picking goods. So what is the difference between the two?

The obvious difference is that fluent shelves belong to lightweight shelves, mainly used for manual storage and retrieval of goods, suitable for storing and picking small items, and widely used in e-commerce warehouses.

Its gravity shelving belongs to heavy-duty shelving, which stores and picks heavy goods. It requires the use of shelving pallets to place goods and forklifts to access goods, and is widely used in logistics warehouses. This is the main difference between fluent shelving and gravity shelving.

Of course, in addition to the above differences, the speed of goods sliding on its fluent shelves mainly depends on the weight of the goods and the slope of the fluent bars, while gravity shelves have dampers to control the speed of goods sliding. In terms of technology, the requirements for gravity shelves are higher, so the cost is also higher than that of fluent shelves. It is also the biggest difference between them.
