What data do we need to know before designing a walk-in shelf.wire chrome shelving unit

When it comes to storage shelves that can increase warehouse storage capacity, we have to talk about drive in shelves. Drive in shelves, also known as through shelves, are a special type of storage shelf with a special structure. Due to the difference between the structure and ordinary shelves, there are also some data that the customer needs to provide before designing the walk-in shelves. Let's take a look at what data is needed.

The reason why the drive in shelf is special is mainly because its working method is very different from ordinary shelves. The drive in shelf, like its name, allows forklifts to enter the interior of the shelf for transportation and storage of goods. The forklifts used for driving in shelves are specialized forklifts, which are different in size from regular shelves. These types of shelves use narrow forklifts, which naturally have significant differences in size. Therefore, before designing shelves, we first need to understand the size of the forklifts in order to design the shelves.

The height and width of a forklift can affect the height of the first layer of shelves and the width of the shelves. In addition, some information about warehouse dimensions, as well as the layout of the warehouse environment and working methods, can also affect the layout of the shelves. Of course, the most important data is the goods stored in the warehouse, the type and size of the goods, and whether special storage methods are needed for some special goods.
